Here’s a cool 80′s nostalgia for Lea Salonga and Menudo fans out there. This video goes way back in 1988. I was only seven years old during that time. Nice to see how it’s all about the music and not just biritan and pa-cutan. I’m pretty sure if Anne Curtis exist during those time as an off tune performer, she’ll be thrown off stage quick.

Christian Bautista has found a new love with his The Kitchen Musical co-star Carla Dunareanu. She’s a Singapore based model and actress. That’s good for Christian since he doesn’t have a blooming lovelife in the past. At least this one is indeed for keeps. Can’t comment much on the guy since he doesn’t get involved much in cheap issues and such.

February 14 nitong taon nang sagutin ni Carla si Christian. Ayon sa balladeer-actor, nag-iba daw ang pananaw niya sa long distance relationships dahil kay Carla. Masayang masaya siya ngayon sa piling ng bagong nobya at maging ang magulang niya na kamakailan ay nakilala na rin si Carla, ay masaya rin para sa kanya.

Filipino Concert King Martin Nievera Plans to Audition in US X-Factor

I kinda felt sorry for Martin Nievera that he tried so hard to achieve international stardom. He even plans to audition the US franchise of X-factor before he was asked to judge the local version of X-factor.He probably felt bitter that Charice Pempengco and Arnel Pineda achieved that fame. He should be grateful that he lasted this long in the music career. I sure wish he did push through his plans, I would love to hear what Simon has to say.

Filipina Singer Krizza Neri Winner of Protege

Krizza Neri or known as “RnB Sistah” was declared as the grand champion on GMA’s Singing competition last December 18, 2011. She happens to be the protege of Aiza Seguerra. Aside from winning 1 million pesos, she won a two bedroom condominium unit in Adriatico Gardens, five year contract in GMA Artist Center and two year STI scholarship.

Condolence to Charice Pempengco’s family. Her father died last October 30, 2011 in a stabbing incident. Despite that she and her family is estranged from her dad. One can’t help but feel sympathy to his tragic demise.

Ayon sa report ni Totel de Jesus sa isang broadsheet, naganap ang insidente noong hatinggabi ng October 30, sa San Pedro, Laguna.
Hindi pa napapangalanan ang suspect, pero sa inuman daw naganap ang krimen.
Nawalay sa ama si Charice sa murang edad. “Violence” ang itinuturong dahilan kung bakit nakipaghiwalay ang kanyang inang si Raquel kay Ricky.

Filipina Aspiring Singer Garie Concepcion

Obviously among the Concepcion spawn, only Garie is the least gifted one in terms of looks and talent. Had she expressed interest in joining showbiz before KC Concepcion did, then I’ll think her intentions were geniune. But no, she only decided to join showbiz with the assurance of her much famous half sister and her dad Gabby Concepcion making a comeback. She ventured into singing and even launched her self titled album *rolls eyes*. I don’t think she will last long in the showbiz. Mediocre talent and butterface ugh….

I find it ironic that some obscure male singer Jhake Vargas beat out Jovit Baldivino from taking home the Best New Male Artist trophy at recently concluded Star Awards for music. I’m neither a fan of both GMA and ABS CBN networks, but I am aware who Jovit is. If you ask anyone on the street about who Jhake Vargas is, they’ll probably say “Jhake who?”. Anyway congratulations to Jhake Vargas for getting that trophy and hopefully will get more out of country concert gigs like Jovit.

Hindi raw kasi niya inaasahang mananalo siya para sa kanyang debut album na Ngiti under Dyna Records. Pumunta lang daw siya sa awards night para sumuporta. Manalo man o hindi ay okey lang daw sa kanya dahil ang mahalaga raw ay nandun siya. Kuwento niya, “Nung tinatawag pa lang yung mga nominado for Best New Male Recording Artist, sobrang kinakabahan talaga ako. “Mas lalo na nang tatawagin na yung winner, sobra-sobrang kabog ng dibdib ang naramadaman ko.

Filipina-American Singer Thia Megia will Sing US National Anthem in Pacquiao-Marquez Match

Manny Pacquiao has chosen American Idol Finalist Thia Megia to sing America’s national Anthem in Pacquiao’s fight against Marquez. Maria Aragon is set to sing the Philippine National Anthem. Seems that Pacquiao’s into selecting FIL-AM singers this time. Will he be choosing Bruno Mar’s next?

“I sang to him and it was right after the ‘Manny Many Prizes’ show. We went backstage and his manager, he asked me, ‘you probably don’t know the Philippine national anthem yet but do you know ‘Star-Spangled Banner?’ I said, ‘I do.’ ‘Do you mind singing it to Manny?’ And I was like, ‘right now?’ And Manny was sitting right there and it was such a small room and Pia (Toscano) and Stefano (Langone) were there, they were rooting for me,” Thia shared.
Although she admitted singing the national anthem of America in front of Manny was “nerve-wrecking,” Thia said the whole experience was “wonderful.”

Filipino Singer Bamboo is Back as Solo Artist

When Rock group Bamboo disbanded, I knew that he’ll be back with a new group. But what I didn’t expect was that he’ll be back as a Solo Artist. No doubt that he’s pretty talented to carry on with his career on his own. But we all know that it would be difficult for him to compete with other solo artists. You know how it is with the masses prefers the solo singers that sings repetitive covers. His new single is very much mellowed compared to hard rock music our ears are accustomed to.

Finally Jovit Baldivino wisened up and decided to leave his manager Joy Maranon. His manager hasn’t been giving him proper share of his earnings despite having gigs abroad . In the first place, he was only a minor when he signed the “lifetime” contract. Really dumb move on his parent’s part when they agreed to the contract. Let’s see if Star Magic can help this kid’s ailing career. Ever since he won, I haven’t heard much about him having major concerts.
