Chinese Actress Zhang Ziyi Scandal With Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai

Who would have thought that Zhang Ziyi’s body would cost 2 million Singapore dollars per night. Now that’s really shocking! I wouldn’t be so surprised if she had high profile affair with some powerful figure but to spend a night for that cash seems very extravagant. Now I know why she nabbed the role for Memoirs of a Geisha. She truly lives up to her screen alter ego.
According to various sources that have been rampant on the matter, Zhang has been barred from leaving the country, where she is currently shooting “The Grandmasters”, while the investigations are ongoing. This may explain why she has refused to appear at the Cannes Film Festival, where her upcoming movie “Dangerous Liaisons” is contending. She has also refused an invitation to present the Palme d’Or award at the festival.
Zhang’s involvement in the scandal with Bo, was believed to have been arranged by another government official and an associate of Bo, Xu Ming, the founder and chairman of the Dailian Shide Group.The actress had agreed to sleep with Bo for 10 million Yuan (approximately SG$2 million) and they had at least 10 encounters in between 2004 to 2007, according to the Chinese media.
Zhang was also believed to have been introduced to other officials through Xu, and slept with them to rake in about 700 million Yuan (SG$141.7 million) from the transactions that took place between 2004 and 2007.

Skylar Pictures and GMA films presents the international film “The witness”. The movie is starred by Gwen Zamora, which I must admit I had no idea who she was aside from being a GMA star. Anyway, the movie looks certainly promising considering this was shot in Indonesia. I’m impressed at the cinematography and the story. I’ll be waiting for this film. Go check out the trailer.

Synopsis
Angel (Gwen Zamora), General Manager of a Hotel who have just been transferred from Manila to Jakarta, is haunted by a weird dream about someone committing suicide.
One day, her family is slaughtered, leaving no one’s alive. Her parents, her only sister Safara, her maid, security, all are dead. Even she was also shot. But somehow she manage to be the only survivor.
Haunted by the incident and her weird dream that keeps coming over and over, she then decide to uncover all the mystery by herself and find out the reason of what she has been going through. Mostly when the detective who investigate the tragedy won’t believe what she told and thought that Angel is hallucinating and making all her story up.

Korean Pop star Jay Park will perform in Manila on October 29 at SM mall of asia. What’s really nice is that aside from concert, Jay Park also bring awareness on Human Trafficking. By the way, what advocacy does our local singers promote? Aside from getting involved in scandals and chasing skirts.

The free outdoor concert is presented by MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) to raise awareness and increase prevention of human trafficking.

Miss Universe 2011 – Leila Lopes of Angola and Other Winners

Miss Angola Leila Lopes was crowned Miss Universe 2011. Miss Ukraine Olesia Stefanko was the first Runner up, Miss Brazil Priscila Machado 2nd Runner up, Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup 3rd place and Miss China Luo Zilin as the 4th runner up.
In the question-and-answer portion, Shamcey was asked by judge Vivica A. Fox: Would you change your religious beliefs to marry the person you love?
Shamcey, who was the only candidate among the Top 5 who did not use an interpreter, answered: “I would not change my religion because… I love my God who created me and if that person truly loves me, should love my God too.”

I don’t know about you guys but I find Shamcey Supsup’s answer very basic. It’s the kind of answer you’ll hear at Sunday school. I has hoping something that’s more elegant and deep. I think it’s about time that Philippines should get an interpreter so we won’t have mediocre answers this time.

Thailand aims to break the Guinness World Records’ Most number of simultaneous massage. The Australia is the current record holder with 232 pairs massaging en mass.
The “World Record for Thai Massage” brings in at least 840 pairs of contestants with the massage session taking place in Chiang Mai, Ubon Ratchathani, Surat Thani and Phuket. The bid for world record was a collaboration between Public Health Ministry, Department of Export Promotion and Tourism Authority of Thailand. The project aims to promote thai massage to the world. Aside from the massage, the project would raise cultural awareness of Thai Culture, Food, Architecture and health tourism.

The Infamous Vuvuzela in World Cup South Africa

World cup fans both in the stadium or in front of television were bothered with the buzzing sounds the Vuvuzelas creates. The Vuvuzela is a plastic horn which creates sound that varies from buzzing of bees, bleating goat and elephant. Not exactly music to the ears. In fact, this offending instrument may even cause permanent hearing loss. Despite the deafening clamor to ban the instrument, there’s no official orders to ban it. Soccer fans can resort to buying earplugs to protect their eardrums. It probably sucks more for the group of fans at the stadium tuneless vuvuzelas drown out their singing and chanting.
I still say let the Vuvuzela stay. Easy for me to say that since I don’t watch world cup.

An american woman who calls herself “Jihad Jane” plots to recruit Jihad fighters online. Her mission? To kill Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks for insulting prophet Mohammed. This is what happens when a white trash gets converted to Muslim. How does that ease the muslim’s sufferings by killing a cartoonist? What a joke! I hope this no-good wench gets locked up in Guatanamo Bay, and throw away the key if you please.
PHILADELPHIA – An indictment against a suburban Philadelphia woman accused of recruiting jihadist fighters online and moving to Europe to try to kill a Swedish artist is a rare case of an American woman aiding foreign terrorists, authorities say, and shows the evolution of the threat of terrorism.
Colleen R. LaRose agreed to murder the artist, marry a terrorism suspect so he could move to Europe and martyr herself if necessary, the indictment filed Tuesday said.
LaRose, who called herself JihadJane online, is “one of only a few such cases nationwide in which females have been charged with terrorism violations,” said U.S. Department of Justice spokesman Dean Boyd.
LaRose called herself JihadJane in a YouTube video in which she said she was “desperate to do something somehow to help” ease the suffering of Muslims, the indictment said. According to the 11-page document, she agreed to obtain residency in a European country and marry one of the terrorists to enable him to live there.
She moved to Europe in August 2009 with a U.S. passport stolen from a male friend and intended to give it to one of her “brothers,” the indictment said. She hoped to “live and train with jihadists and to find and kill” the targeted artist, it said.
