Filipino Senator Lito Lapid’s Wife Arrested for Smuggling $50,000 in USA

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

Senator Lito Lapid’s wife Marissa Lapid was thrown in the slammer for smuggling $50,000 in Las Vegas. Oh what nerve! Gambling the taxpayer’s money as the impeachment against CJ Corona is going on. I just couldn’t contain my glee at the irony. Please let her rot in jail. Anyway why not throw in Lito Lapid in the impeachment since it would save time. After all, wasn’t Corona being impeached for not declaring his assets? It’s a high time that Lito Lapid will be impeached also for not declaring his assets.

ANGELES CITY, Philippines – The wife of Sen. Lito Lapid was arrested shortly after her landing in Las Vegas last Jan. 15 in connection with the dollar smuggling charges filed against her after she was accosted at the international airport there last November.

Senator Lapid confirmed yesterday that his wife Marissa was arrested but she was released on bail. She will, however, remain in Las Vegas pending the resolution of the case involving the alleged smuggling of $50,000 in cash last November.

He said an American lawyer is now assisting Marissa.

“I have also sought the help of the Department of Foreign Affairs to find out what really happened,he said, adding that he has coordinated with the US embassy in Manila for clarification.

President Aquino Typhoon Sendong Blunder

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Unlike all previous presidents in the past who shows up on disaster stricken area the day after, President Noynoy begs to differ. He decided to visit the disaster stricken area just when people were criticizing him on social networks when he chose to “Party” just when the relief efforts are being mobilized. He probably showed up not because he feels that he had to but more like he was pushed by his darling sisters. I wonder what crack did he smoke that he actually thought that Iloilo was among typhoon Sendong affected area.

“I need to ask myself. Did the government do enough to prevent this kind of a tragedy? I don’t think I can accept that we have done everything,” Mr. Aquino told evacuees at Cagayan de Oro Central School during a lightning visit to the disaster zone four days after Tropical Storm “Sendong” struck. “I know we could have done more.”

“We will be assisting not only Cagayan and Iligan, but also Negros Oriental and Iloilo. We’d like to assure you that we are going to fine-tune all of the systems in place so that we can prevent a similar tragedy from happening.”

Philippine President Noynoy Aquino Parties With Valerie Concepcion while Mindanao Suffers from Flooding

Monday, December 19th, 2011

You heard it right folks, the retarded president was partying at the aftermath of the disaster. You don’t hear a peep from him. If it weren’t for the social networks, nobody would know what he did and what the heck is he up to. How strange that he’s nowhere to be found when disaster strikes what an incompetent president.

MANILA, Philippines — The partylist group Kabataan on Monday criticized President Benigno Aquino III for reportedly partying as thousands suffer from the brunt of typhoon Sendong.

At the same time, Representative Raymond Palatino said the President’s veto in the 2011 budget of the P5 billion for disaster preparation has weakened the government’s capacity to respond to natural disasters.

Late Saturday, Palatino said that television host and actress Valerie Concepcion tweeted about performing in a party in Malacanang. She said Aquino laughed as her jokes and enjoyed her performance.

“Done w/ work.. Tnx for having me.. :) It was nice to see Pres. P-Noy laughing at my jokes & enjoying my performance..ü #Malacañang #PSGNight,” according to Concepcion’s tweet.
