But TV5 decides to bring Amazing Race to the Philippines, to be hosted by Derek Ramsay. I have no idea how the franchise would look like, I’m hoping it won’t suffer the same fate to that of Philippines’ Next Top Model. We’ll see how it goes.

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012
I happened to come across Margie Holmes post in her facebook apologizing about the shocking revelation on March 20, 2012 episode of face to face. Of course I was intrigued. Salve works as a GRO and apparently her mother is cool with it. In fact Salve seems to relish at the initial attention where she keeps stealing husbands from other women. She even brazenly admits that she’s after the money. What she didn’t know is that her sugar daddy is actually her long lost father. Her mom broke down as she revealed the truth on the air and embarassed both father and daughter on national tv. Waaaay to goooo mooooommmm…

Don’t worry Salve, Luke Skywalker also felt the same thing. The only difference is that he never slept with his dad and asks him for money.

Thursday, March 22nd, 2012
Kim Chiu certainly surprised both her fans and haters alike with this daring role where she played as a blind girl inflicted with brain tumor. I’m not a fan of Kim Chiu but I must admit she was given a good role for March 24 episode of Maalaala mo kaya. Get your tissue ready folks, I predict this one is going to be a tear jerker. I’m guessing that Gerald Anderson’s Budoy fame has left Kim Chiu acting career in the dust. The management must have decided to give Kim Chiu a good acting vehicle to showcase her talent.

KC Concepcion to Host Singing competition The X Factor Philippines
Wednesday, December 28th, 2011
KC Concepcion will indeed host the next biggest singing reality show The X Factor Philippines. Now that dispels the rumors of her possible transfer to another network. She definitely staying with ABS CBN. Anyway, it’s about time for ABS CBN to put up an actual singing competition instead of that lame Pilipinas got talent franchise which has turned into singing competition. I wonder though if we’ll also get to see the shadow of Piolo Pascual in The X-factor?
Posted in Filipino TV Shows | No Comments »The search is on for the Philippines’ next singing superstar with KC Concepcion hosting the country’s biggest and newest singing-reality show The X Factor Philippines.
Starting January, KC will be visiting different cities like Cebu, Bacolod, Manila, Olongapo, and Batangas for the auditions. “We will start scouting for talented Filipinos who will join and compete to become the next singing superstar. So if you have the X factor or if you believe you have the X factor, then go to the auditions. I will see you there,” said KC, who recently renewed her contract with ABS-CBN.
The X Factor Philippines, which will air in the second quarter of 2012, is a singing-reality search open to Filipinos, aged 13 and above, who may audition as solo, duet, or group. KC will be joined by four other judges or mentors in the program. Apart from the show, KC said she is also set to do a drama series, a movie, and join ASAP. She said it is difficult to resist opportunities that come her way and looks forward to her new projects. “I will end this year with a happy heart and start my year with a happy heart,” she said.

T3 Kapatid, Sagot Kita – Filipino Public Service TV Program
Monday, September 26th, 2011
The much feared Tulfo brothers are back with their Public Service Program “T3 Kapatid, Sagot Kita” on TV5. These brothers have their fair share of controversy. Anyway, let’s hope that they’re truly doing some justice to their program and not get swallowed up in the system.
Posted in Filipino TV Shows | No Comments »Toughness is a must in his job, says broadcast journalist Erwin Tulfo. He told the Inquirer at the launch of “T3: Kapatid, Sagot Kita,” TV5’s new public service program, which he cohosts with brothers Raffy and Ben: “People can be stubborn. To put your point across, sometimes you have to shove it in their faces, especially those who play dumb.”
Sometimes accused of being confrontational and mercurial, Erwin said that he’s actually fair and even-tempered when dealing with troublemakers. “I assess every situation carefully, and I’m always straightforward with suspects.”
But when a suspect dilly-dallies or justifies his actions, sparks are sure to fly. “Some would ask, who do you think you are? Are you a cop? What authority do you have? They really tick me off, especially when I know I’m right,” he admitted.
What really blows his fuse, though, are criminals who prey on children and women: “The worst part is when the suspect is in a position of authority.”

Filipino Online Show Alodia’s Fantasy
Sunday, September 25th, 2011
Alodia Gosiengfiao is considered as cosplay queen of the Philippines. Along with her rising popularity, she also gained haters as well. She’s also back with her solo online show “Alodia’s Fantasy”. Too bad for her that her Laugh out Loud show didn’t work out. I’ll rather watch Wow mali though. It’s too early to tell how the show would go since there’s no teaser nor trailer. We’ll just wait and see if indeed we’ll get sucked into Alodia’s dream world.

Gwendolyn Ruais is Miss World Philippines
Monday, September 19th, 2011
Miss World Philippines recently concluded without much fanfare with viewers still having Miss Universe 2011 hang over. French-Filipina Gwendolyn Ruais won the crown as Miss World Philippines. I must admit I don’t find her beauty striking, it’s kinda masculine. At first glance I thought it was a tranny.
Traditionally, the chosen candidates for Miss World is usually a runner up from Binibining Pilipinas. But with Janina San Miguel tarnishing the honor of being Miss World Philippines, it’s about time to create a separate pageant. Unlike Binibining Pilipinas, that even though Venus Raj won the title. The Miss World Philippines will take home one million pesos cash prize, a condo unit, and other prizes. Her prize money isn’t enough to renovate her home.

Filipino TV Show Happy Yipee Yehey’s Contestant Thanked Rival Show Eat Bulaga
Sunday, September 18th, 2011
What seemed to be typical contestants-host interaction got the hosts hitting the brakes when a contest thanked Eat Bulaga, their rival show. I find it amusing as Randy Santiago was stunned at what the contestant said. Meanwhile Toni Gonzaga seemed unfazed, after all she did came from Eat Bulaga. Too bad for Happy Yippee Show, well they should be thankful that the contestants didn’t blurt out Wowoweee.

Sunday, September 18th, 2011
Chienna Filomeno is known as the youngest professional cosplayer in the Philippines. She has been an endorser for Animax, Honda Scooters, Redbana Philippines and Freshgear. To be honest, I don’t find anything remarkable about her aside from capitalizing on being “youngest” cosplayer. Although she’s slowly getting unpopular with some “online drama” she’s involved in and of course being clueless about the characters she cosplays.
