Aswang – Filipino Film Remake
Monday, September 19th, 2011
Aswang is a remake from original horror thriller movie which starred Alma Moreno. Lovi Poe’s exotic looks definitely fit her in this movie. Paulo Avelino plays the role as her leading man. Though this film looks interesting but certainly not enticing enough to make me pay for it. I’ll just wait for it when it comes out of cable.
Aswang Cast:
Paulo Avelino, Jillian Ward, Introducing Albie Casino and Lovi Poe. Mark Abaya, Nina Jose, Joem Bascon, Bembol Rocco, Lara Quigaman

Thursday, September 15th, 2011
Film Academy of the Philippines has selected “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” for 2012 Oscars. While I admit it’s a good film but this certainly isn’t Oscar worthy film. I’m sure that there’s other underrated indie films that deserves the selection. How can this film about woman swimming in shit stand a chance against other foreign films. The selection committee has probably did the selection by throwing everything on the wall and see what sticks.

Thursday, September 15th, 2011
“My neighbor’s wife” is Regal film’s answer to Star Cinema’s “No other Woman”. The story revolves around two bestfriends who are embroiled in a steamy love affair with the other’s wife. They end up having wife swapping party complete with drama and all that shiz.
I couldn’t help but wince at the poor production value of the film. Like this was made for TV. Poor camera work and lousy acting. While Dennis Trillo and Jake Cuenca are known for their good acting, they act like a bunch of amateurs in this film. Carla Abellana stiff acting is quite an eyesore for me. Lovi Poe surprisingly acted well despite my general dislike for her.

No Other Woman – Filipino Movie Star Cinema
Thursday, September 15th, 2011
Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes will battle it out for Derek Ramsey affections in this Star Cinema Movie, “No Other Woman”. While Christine Reyes played her role flawlessly, I can’t say the same for Anne. Her acting seemed forced and she seemed having difficulty in playing the role effectively.
Movie Synopsis
Christine and Ramsey plays the role of a happily married couple. Things went well until feisty Anne Curtis came into the scene. Anne and Derek began having a torrid affair without strings attached. Things became even more complicated when Anne doesn’t want to give up on Derek and wants their relationship ship to go beyond casual fling. When Christine learned about the affair, she decides to fight back. Derek is now torn between his mistress and his wife.

Manila Film Festival 2011 Showcases Same Crappy Movies
Sunday, June 19th, 2011
Year after year, filipinos will have to endure same ol generic crappy movies in Metro Manila Film festival. OFWs and Balikbayans unfortunately have to treat their families to this shallow entertainment since that’s the only time of the year they have to spend with families. What’s with Bong Revilla producing his own movies trying to look macho. He’s like steroid junkie Sly Stallone who doesn’t know the word “retirement”. The only Bong Revilla movie I’ll be interested to watch is where he’s slamming his ham in some woman’s can. We all know that mother lily is purely in the movie industry because money but damn, this shake rattle and roll franchise they keep churning out is getting stale. Fortunate for them that a lot of pinoys are still willing to consume stale crap.
Metro Manila Film Festival Entries:
- “Segunda Mano” – MJM Productions’ starring Kris Aquino and Dingdong Dantes (horror)

Temptation Island Filipino Film Remake and Original Showdown
Thursday, May 12th, 2011
I saw this latest trailer of Temptation Island 2011 Remake. Gotta give credit to the director for nice production and cinematography. But too bad the movie suffers from huge miscast. I mean come on, look at these ham actresses that can’t act to save their own lives. It’s pathetic how they try so hard to beat the original casts’ acting. The remake is so unimaginative that the film is a poor carbon copy of the original film. I hope this film flop so badly that mother lily won’t dare come up with pathetic remakes of other Regal Films archives.
Temptation Island 2011 Tagalog Movie Remake
Meanwhile the original 1981 Temptation Island remains timeless despite it being tagged as campy film. The dialogues were witty and the actresses acts naturally. In fact I could watch the film over and over again tirelessly. The “Walang Tubig, Walang Kuryente” scene had me rolling with laughter.

This is the second movie of Aga Muhlach plays the role of a dance instructor. I loved his previous movie where he was paired up with Lorna Tolentino where he played a dance instructor who had an affair with a young rich widow.
I’m not having faith on any of Star Cinema’s latest regurgitated crap. I feel cheated whenever I watch other shallow romantic movies by the same film outfit. But I’ll still watch the movie anyway at Cinema One.
In the Name of Love Synopsis
Former dance instructor Emman Toledo played by Aga was employed as a dance instructor for a governor’s ball. He finds himself in a passionate love affair with Cedes Fernandez (Angel Locsin) who happens to be engaged to Dylan Evelino (Jake Cuenca) son of the governor. The couple finds themselves in a dangerous situation. The Evelino Clan is too powerful that nothing gets in their way to get what they want. Like in most Star Cinema movies, the couple will overcome the obstacle and live happily ever after.
In the name of love Casts
Angel Locsin, Jake Cuenca, and Aga Muhlach
Other Casts
Dante Rivero, Carmi Martin, Leo Rialp, Smokey Manaloto, Ryan Eigenmann, Emilio Garcia, Kat Alano, Dimples Romana, Bobby Andrews, Michael Flores, Joshua Zamora, Nanding Josef, Maliksi Morales, Paul Salas.

Rosario – Filipino Movie
Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010
Rosario is a highly anticipated period movie for me personally. I’ve seen other similar film like Baler, Aishetemasu and Blue Moon, but they lacked “Ooomph”. I must confess that I’m not a fan of Jennylyn Mercado but I was really surprised at how her acting skills evolved. This would also be Albert Martinez’s Directorial debut. It’s no secret that the film underwent bumps during its production. Finally, I’m glad to see the film’s completion. I hope this film will do well at Metro Manila Film Festival.
However, most of the audience would prefer to see stupid, senseless, cheap rehashed piece of sh!t they call films. It’s soo predictablel. We see same regurgitated crap year after year. Don’t get me started on Shake, Rattle and Roll. And not another Vic Sotto and Bong Revilla movie.
Rosario Synopsis
The film tells the saga of Rosario, a young and liberated Filipina in the 1920s who has just arrived from New York, and is spending her vacation in their hacienda.
There, she meets and falls in love with Vicente, an older man who manages the tobacco plantation owned by Rosario’s family. When Rosario’s father finds out about his daughter’s scandalous affair, he sends Rosario to a convent.
She escapes, and elopes with Vicente to Manila where they raise a family. But Rosario’s life of married bliss slowly crumbles when Vicente becomes ill with tuberculosis, and she is lured to committing adultery. Temptation and scandal still hound Rosario as she continues to defy the moral restrictions of her time.
Based on a true story and set in one of the most colorful periods in Philippine history, ROSARIO is destined to be a modern masterpiece in Philippine filmmaking. It is a monumental yet intimate portraitof a woman’s emancipation and the sometimes painful consequencesof following one’s desires.

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010
Till My Heartaches is one of the most talked about film not because of the story but the controversy that surrounds it. What first started off as a rumor that Bea and Gerald Anderson were dating fuel the rabid fans into harrassing the couple. Things got so intense that Gerald cried at the movie press conference. Will this be the last Kimerald movie? Gee I hope so. I’m so tired of seeing wooden puppets acting as humans on screen.
Synopsis
Paolo “Powie” Barredo (Gerald Anderson) is out to prove to the world that he is not just a son out of wedlock, but that he can succeed in life independently. Though he started out roughly, he soon picked up pace and climbed the ladder of success. But as things started falling into place, other important things in his life had to take a backseat as he experienced the thrill of finally achieving his goal.
Agnes Garcia (Kim Chiu) has always longed for the time when her family will finally be complete again. At the young age of 6, her parents left the country to work abroad – her mother was a medical technician in America, while her father worked as an engineer n Riyadh. Despite the distance, Agnes held tight to the inevitability that she will reunite with her parents once again when she passes the nursing exam and applies to work in the States.
The moment these two saw each other at the café, they couldn’t take their eyes off each other. Their attraction was apparent and it seemed that destiny brought them together. As they got to know the other better, they found solace and comfort in each other’s company. But the security they found in each other soon started to shake when their different life paths take them to different directions. Despite the love they both still have for each other, one must choose to decide when to let go, even if the other is still holding on.
