Kimmy Dora 2 Temple of Kiyeme – Tagalog Movie
Friday, May 18th, 2012
Kimmy and Dora is back! This time the movie goes into different direction, exploring the Korean origins of the twins. However, after breaking off the tradition of arranged marriage. Their lives are shaken with the twist and turns caused by karma. The twins tackle the biggest challenge of their lives which is facing the curse that haunts them and their loved ones.
I’m pretty much excited at the follow up sequel to the smash indie hit Kimmy Dora. But I find the marketing of the film rather weak as opposed to other star cinema’s own production. Like for instance, in social network everyone is talking about corazon movie even though the film was mediocre. Nonetheless I hope this film will get much audience since I’m tired of all that corny “bakla” movies from Vice Ganda.

Thursday, May 10th, 2012
I must admit I never heard about this movie since there’s not much hype about this one. Since it’s regal films, there’s not much marketing buzz going around. Not like in Star Cinema where even their lousiest shit movies get some hype. Anyway the story looks promising since we’re all tired of Star Cinema’s generic regurgitated crap.
The Mommy Returns Synopsis:
“THE MOMMY RETURNS” is a family comedy-horror movie about a mother, Ruby (POKWANG) who dies right on the day of her 25th wedding anniversary with gorgeous husband, William (GABBY CONCEPCION). With her untimely death, she is temporarily trapped in PURGA (short for Purgatory) with its guardian, Dyoga (JOHN LAPUS, ang diyosa ng purga) and the pesky Manny, the chicken pet of San Pedro.
Enter CATHERINE (RUFFA GUTTIEREZ) – a younger, fresher, and much, much prettier woman who comes into the life of William. When she threatens to take Ruby’s place as mother to her three beloved children (KIRAY, GERALD PESIGAN and JILLIAN WARD), hell (er, purgatory) breaks loose as Ruby escapes back to earth as a ghost to scare and drive Catherine out of the family she left behind!
What follows is a riot of scary antics and tactics that will prove that “hell hath no fury like a dead woman,” especially if she is a mother who can’t leave her children behind!
This year’s Regal Films’ laugh-til-you-cry Mother’s Day offering is directed by JOEL LAMANGAN from a screenplay by Senedy H. Que. It opens nationwide on May 9, 2012.

The Mistress – Tagalog Movie
Wednesday, May 9th, 2012With the success of “No other Woman”, star cinema will once again try to milk the “infidelity” drama genre dry. This time the movie aptly titled “The Mistress” will have John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo in starring roles. Director Olivia Lamasan is set to direct this “No other woman” spin off. Did I just mention that they will shoot in Vienna Austria? Yeah right as if shooting abroad will actually give the film some credibility. Anyway more details to follow when the movie trailer will be released.

Friday, April 6th, 2012Angelica Panganiban will star with Piolo Pascual in this Romantic Comedy “Every Breath U Take”. Judging from this trailer, the movie isn’t strong enough to generate interest from me. I presume this is just one of star cinema’s generic and formulaic films. I don’t think the two have no chemistry whatsoever. Just watching these two make out makes me gag.

Saturday, March 3rd, 2012
Trouble’s brewing at the Cinemalaya when the three bigwigs of the festival, Laurice Guillen, Robbie Tan and Nestor Jardin considers resigning. The conflict is due to the disqualification of MNL 143 film by Emerson Reyes. The problem is actually petty since the officials doesn’t not agree with the casting choice of Allan Paule and Joy Viando. Hence decides to disqualify Reyes. I find it unfair that they disqualify a film because of casting choice. It defeats the purpose of cinemalaya which is the spirirt of independent films.

My Kontrabida Girl – Filipino Film
Saturday, March 3rd, 2012
Well, I adore Jade Castro’s work but I find myself completely gagging over Rhian Ramos and Aljur Abrenica movie. I find it a total waste of talent for making this atrocious movie. I’ll just stick to watching Zombadings to erase from my mind this atrocious movie. However I find myself laughing at some people comments that the movie should be titled “My Abortionista Girl”. Anyway I’m not watching this movie, can’t stand watching Rhian and Aljur’s awful acting.

Sunday, February 5th, 2012Unofficially Yours star cinema’s romantic comedy starring Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz. This is a typical romantic comedy about friends with benefits. Well, I dunno why there’s a need to jump in the band wagon. We all know how this one would end, they will fall madly in love with each other so *yawn*. I don’t know why Director Cathy Molina saying that the people are ready for “mature” stories. It’s not like filipinos are kept in the dark about that kind of set-up in relationships.

Friday, January 13th, 2012
Normally I wouldn’t bat an eyelash on Star Cinema’s latest mediocre film offering. When I read on their official facebook fanpage site stating that “My Cactus Heart” is an indie film produced by Star Cinema. What the hell?! A major movie outfit just labeled their product as indie when in fact it’s not. The reason why indie films are labeled as such because they are produced independently without the backing of major movie outfit. It’s like a cow’s milk carelessly labeled as soy milk.
Cactus Heart Synopsis
My Cactus Heart’ is an upcoming indie film that stars real-life sweethearts Maja Salvador and Matteo Guidicelli. Salvador stated that the film will be released on the first quarter of 2012.
Directed by Enrico Santos, ‘My Cactus Heart’ is about a girl who finds it very hard to fall in love. Her leading man in the movie is Guidicelli who plays the character of a musician named Carlo.
Produced by Star Cinema, ‘My Cactus Girl’ had a former working title of ‘Basted’. Also, there are rumors that Rosanna Roces is a part of the movie.
Maja Salvador currently appears in the ABS-CBN drama, ‘My Binondo Girl’ alongside Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.

Asiong Salonga Manila Kingpin Movie – Controversial MMFF Movie
Wednesday, December 28th, 2011
Asiong Salonga is one of this year’s controversial Metro Manila Film Festival from Tikoy Aguiluz restraining order to halt the film’s showing to the “sabotage” of the film prints. Let’s start with the begrudged director Tikoy Aguiluz. Apparently, the director was not pleased when the producers decided to make major changes on the film editing. He filed a restraining order to force the producers to take his name off the movie credits. The next controversy is where EJ Ejercito claimed of a sabotage where SQ laboratories released only 17 prints out of 51 films which affected the ticket sales.
What is Asiong Salonga Movie really about? The movie is a biopic of a gang leader Asiong Salonga, known for his crimes but also for his good heart as well. He robs from the rich and gives to the poor, a modern day robinhood.
Production wise, the cinematography is a step up from previous action films. However, I couldn’t help but snicker at EJ Ejercito’s clean shaven armpits. I mean, he’s portraying a “macho” guy image here. Does the real Asiong Salonga actually shaved his?

Monday, October 3rd, 2011
Praybeyt Benjamin is Vice Ganda’s follow up movie since his smash hit “Petrang Kabayo”. One couldn’t help but find the movie a gay version of Goldie Hawn’s “Private Benjamin”. Maybe that’s why they altered the title. In fairness the movie’s got potential. I think this one is better than Petrang Kabayo. In fact it’s a laugh to see Vice Ganda making pa-boy effect.
I couldn’t help but snickered upon seeing DJ Durano’s mug once again. This could only mean that Wenn Deramas is once again helming this movie.
Synopsis
Benjamin Santos came from a long line of soldiers in his clan. Since he turned out to be gay, his grandfather considered him a disgrace to the family. When the country is on the brink of civil war, he decides to enlist in his father’s place. Life at the bootcamp isn’t as easy as expected but soon finds himself falling for his hunky Sargeant.
