Paano ko Sasabihin – Cinema One Original Filipino Film

Paano Ko Sasabihin is an unpredictable light romantic comedy about two strangers who can ‘hear’ the call of love by using their hearts. Enchong and Erich play the role of deaf-mute lovers in the film, where Enchong’s character knows sign language since he teaches this in the school where he works while Erich’s character knows how to sign language because of her deaf-mute brother.
Combined with an unpretentious unique plotline and well chosen interesting locations like that of the metro train or MRT, the unique charm of Erich and Enchong was significant in making the film one of the biggest winners in the latest Cinema One Originals Digital Movie Festival where it bagged the following awards–Best Editing, Special Mention Award and the Audience Choice Award for Best Digital Movie.
Paano Ko Sasabihin was written and directed by Richard Legaspi, a graduate of the Asian Film Academy in Pusan, South Korea. His films have been screened at the Pusan, Dubai, Pyongyang, Berlin, Vienna, Budapest, and many other festivals. His short film “Ambulancia” won at the Festival Internazionale del Cortometraggio San Gio in Verona, Italy. He was also the first Filipino filmmaker invited to the 32nd Film Festival Weiterstadt in Germany and first Asian filmmaker nominated in Grand OFF European Film Awards in Warsaw, Poland.
I’m really bothered that they haven’t shown this in my hometown. If I were in Manila, I would really watch this film. Show support to this great film and prove to the major film producers that independent cinema are a step ahead.

Thank you for spreading “Paano ko Sasabihin” film. I would like to watch it soon.
I would like to share regarding the increasing awareness on people, misconceptions about the deaf remains.
I saw one word “deaf-mute” in the synopsis. We [the Deaf] are not mute. We are simply Deaf and can’t talk because we do not hear what other people say. We are not mute because our tongues are normal.
Our Deaf community strongly prefers “Deaf”, being spelled with a capital D, which means that we are identified, not merely as a person who cannot hear, but as someone who is part of the Deaf community, partaking in its unique culture and natural sign language.
A lot are profoundly deaf, thus hearing aid is not an option.

Hello, the film Hear Me is different to Paano Ko Sasabihin.
According to my research to some interviews of the director, i think that was last November of 2009 the script was first submitted to Star Cinema Scriptwriting contest way back 2001 and if Hear me was released in 2009 and Paano Ko Sasabihin was in 2009 last quarter then it’s not possible. And there’s thousands of scriptwriters and directors in the world and concepts are flying around their heads.
Cinema One selected the script 2009 of May, I read it on-line. Well good thing for me, I know all this things because of reasearch.
Beacause at first, I’m also wondering because I saw the trailer of film Hear me when I was in Hong Kong and then read the article of Cinema One about the selected scripts when I was in Bangkok, two days after.
