Filipino Action Star Robin Padilla Refused Talent Fee for Ping Lacson Movie
With the success of Asiong Salonga, I’m pretty sure that got Ping Lacson itching to get immortalized on the big screen. So he decides to make an action movie with Robin Padilla playing the lead role of his biopic. Of course no action movie will be complete without antiquated 90′s action movie director Romy Suzara. Expect that the movie would look “dated” and generic.
It was surprising that Robin Padilla will forgo the talent fee in exchange for the copyright of the film. He wanted his children to inherit his film after he’s gone. That’s a nice move but what would happen if the movie flops? Besides why would anyone in the future care to make a remake of some dirty politician’s biopic.
Tatlong pelikula ang gagawin ni Binoe sa taong ito kung hindi magbabago ang shooting schedule. Sisimulan muna niya ang true-to-life story ni Ping Lacson. Mismong ang senador ang pumili kay Robin for the said role. Naniniwala kasi ito na walang ibang action star ang makakaganap sa papel niya kung hindi si Robin under the direction of action director Romy Suzara.
“Nag-meeting na kami si Senador Ping kasama si Direk Romy at maayos ang aming pag-uusap. Mauuna kong gawin itong kay Senador kaya panay ang taping ko. Medyo matatagalan kami sa Europe kung saan kami nagsi-shooting with Mariel Rodriguez bilang asawa ko.”
Magkano naman kaya ang ibabayad kay Robin sa big-budgeted movie ni Senator Ping Lacson? “Sa totoo lang, hindi ako nagpaba-yad sa project na ito ni Senator Ping. Maging ‘yung movie namin ni Willie sa Viva Films, wala rin akong bayad.” Ang gusto ko lang, sa akin ‘yung copyright ng pelikula ko at nag-agree naman sila. Para naman kung sakaling mawala na ako may ipamamana ako sa mga anak ko, ‘yung mga pelikula ko.”
