Filipina Actress Jennylyn Mercado Awarded Honorary Member of Gabriela Women Group
I never ever supported Gabriela women’s group because obviously they seem to care about the plight of sensationalized women in the news or battered celebrities. When did you hear Gabriela getting spotlight that’s not related to battered celebrities? But sure I see them in news all the time rallying and protesting, but that’s it. I do hope they’ll consider doing some activities nationwide. Protesting and rallying does not count. It does not achieve anything period.
Kinabukasan naman, May 14, ay nagkaroon siya ng fan’s day na ginanap sa may bagong Star Mall sa San Jose, Del Monte, Bulacan.
Naki-celebrate din doon ang grupong Gabriela na dati nang sumusuporta kay Jennylyn.
Doon na rin ay iginawad ng Gabriela ang Award of Recognition para sa aktres. Naging honorary member ang Kapuso star ng naturang grupo ng kababaihan.
Ayon sa Secretary-General ng Gabriela na Lana Linaban, malaking bagay raw ang pagsali ni Jennylyn sa Gabriela, dahil nakita raw nila ang katapangan nito para harapin ang mga pinagdaanan niya sa buhay.
Magsisilbing inspirasyon daw si Jennylyn sa mga kababaihang naabuso at naaapi na tumatahimik na lang, at hindi ito humingi ng tulong sa Gabriela para lumaban.
